No, it is not similar to the story of the worlds creation that I know and believe in. It is very different in fact.
Explanation:
This legend talks about the inhabitant of the world which was divided into layers and sections. It does not talk about how heaven was created, the sea, plants, and everything we can see around. It only states that there are only species who have inhabited the world without even mentioning first how these species came into existence. Who created them? Why were they created? How and from what material or elements were made of?
In contrast, the story of creation that I knew was clearly explained and elaborated what was first made; in what day are those things made; what are the relevance of their existence, and what are their roles and responsibilities.
Lastly, in this legend, that Great Being who is said to be the creator was unnamed. While in the other story of creation that I know and believe in was named.
